Alyssa Kragelund from Anita Honored at Buena Vista Unversity

2017 May 26

Alyssa Kragelund , a accounting and business major from Anita , was honored at Buena Vista University's annual Student Recognition Dinner on April 29.

Kragelund received the following recognition:

Kragelund received an Academic Excellence Award as a third year student. This Academic Excellence Award is given to students on the Storm Lake campus whose cumulative GPA is 3.75 or greater, representing approximately the top 10% of each class.

Kragelund received a Student Organization Leader award for her role in Alpha Psi Omega (Drama), one of more than 57 organizations available on campus. These leaders provide guidance and motivation to their clubs and attend campus-wide meetings to share knowledge and build skills. BVU's many active student organizations represent a wide variety of interests, social causes and disciplines.

Kragelund received the Clifford A. Rae Academic Achievement Award, an award given annually to BVU science and business majors. Eligible students are from Iowa or a contiguous state and must meet specific financial need qualifications. Students are invited to apply and compete, and winners are determined on the basis of grade-point average. Clifford Rae was a long-serving advisor to Dr. Harold Walter Siebens and Executive Director of the Siebens Family Foundation. This generous award can be used by the winners for approved academic purposes, such as student research, interim travel, internship accommodations, graduate school applications, certification examinations, or upon graduation, payment of student loans.

Kragelund was awarded The Collier Student Study Travel Program. Every year at BVU students have amazing opportunities to complete internships that help prepare them for their careers, do significant research in their discipline and travel nationally and internationally. Many of our students awarded gift assistance to help assure they could pursue these opportunities. This support is made available through the generous contributions of alumni and friends.
