Blake Laursen from Lakeside Honored at Buena Vista Unversity

Blake Laursen, a senior biology major from Lakeside , was recently honored at Buena Vista University's student recognition event.

Laursen received the following recognition:

Laursen was awarded the Student Leader of the Year Award, an award given annually to two students who have made significant contributions to the quality of life on campus and have demonstrated exemplary leadership skills. He was acknowledged as a finalist for the Senior of the Year Award for serving as Interim Residence Hall Director for the suites. He previously served as a Residence Assistant for two years. Laursen is very involved on campus, serving as a member of the Student Activities Board and Dean's Fellows. He is a peer mentor for the Leadership Pillar's program and is the president of the Team Wellness Organization. Laursen has also received the Clifford A. Rae School of Science Academic Achievement Award.
