Callie Hoffman, a senior business major from Schaller , was recently honored at Buena Vista University's student recognition event.

Hoffman received the following recognition:

Hoffman received an Academic Excellence Award as a fourth year student. This Academic Excellence Award is given to students on the Storm Lake campus whose cumulative GPA is 3.75 or greater, representing approximately the top 10% of each class. She was nominated for inclusion in Who's Who Among Colleges and University Students in America. Selection is based on academic achievements, campus leadership and faculty recommendations. She received the Clifford A. Rae Academic Achievement Award, an award given annually to Harold Walter Siebens School of Business and nine School of Science majors. Eligible students are from Iowa or a contiguous state and must meet specific financial need qualifications. Students are invited to apply and compete, and winners are determined on the basis of grade-point average. Clifford Rae was a long-serving advisor to Dr. Harold Walter Siebens and Executive Director of the Siebens Family Foundation. This generous award can be used by the winners for approved academic purposes, such as student research, interim travel, internship accommodations, graduate school applications, certification examinations, or upon graduation, payment of student loans.Hoffman was awarded the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business and the School of Communication and Arts Senior Award for marketing. Hoffman also received the Senior Woman of the Year Award for her involvement in the BV Buddies Mentoring program and the Buena Vista Business Association. She serves in the Center for Academic Excellence as a Business Tutor and as an Academic Assistant for Scott Anderson, Professor of Marketing. Hoffman is a Dean's Fellow and was a recipient of the Clifford A. Rae Achievement Award. In 2015, she was chosen to participate in the Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory.
