Hannah Anderson in Buena Vista University Theatre Production

2010 Oct 20

The Buena Vista University (BVU) theatre department will present Tbe Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 Nov. 3-6 at Anderson Auditorium in the Siebens Forum on the campus of Buena Vista University.

Hannah Anderson from Boone is a member of the cast. Her role is that of Helsa Wenzel. Anderson is a first-year arts management major.

The comedic murder-mystery follows the creative team of a recent Broadway flop (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious "Stage Door Slasher") as they assemble for a backer's audition at an isolated estate soon to be hit by a blizzard. The house is complete with rotating bookshelves, secret passageways and a German maid who is apparently four different people - all of which figure diabolically in the comic mayhem which follows when the infamous "Slasher" strikes again.

Dr. Michael Whitlatch, professor or theatre, is the director of the play. It is written by John Bishop, with technical direction by David Grant Walker, assistant professor of theatre.
