Six Buena Vista University students have been selected to participate in an on-campus question and answer program with Former U.S. Secretary of Defense and Director of the CIA Leon E. Panetta on Friday, Oct 7 during his appearance on campus as the 22nd William W. Siebens American Heritage Lecture laureate.

Patrice Crall, a senior psychology major from Panama, co-authored the paper, "Lavish Life and Disturbed Disposition: Personality Analysis of Charlie Harper on Two and a Half Men," that has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Psychological Inquiry. She has also been accepted into the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master's program at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

Kacee Baker, a senior English major, from Storm Lake had her short story "The Red Hat" chosen for publication by the online literary journal Mad River Review.

Buena Vista University (BVU) students from the School of Education received the Recognition of Excellence Award from Educational Testing Service (ETS) for their performance on the required Praxis II(R) exam in their content areas during the spring semester.
