The Rural Health Fellowships program selected two Buena Vista University (BVU) students for its January 2015 scholars program, which includes a three-week internship and a $1,000 stipend.

The Undergraduate Rural Medicine Education and Development (URMED) program selected three students for its January 2015 scholars program, which included a three-week internship and a $3,000 stipend to help cover costs of applying to medical school.

Buena Vista University's student media organizations took home 29 awards and other honors at the 2015 Iowa College Media Association (ICMA) conference held February in Des Moines.

On Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, Buena Vista University announced their 2014 Homecoming king and queen, Ian Grigsby, a senior mathematics major from Omaha, Nebraska, and Beth Weber, a senior biology major from Danbury. The coronation came after a week of Homecoming festivities on campus.

Three BVU students presented at the Midwest Service Leaders Conference on Oct. 24-25. Their presentation, "An Inside Look at Mentoring Description," focused on the BV Buddies program, the building of reciprocal relationships and its impact on mentors and mentees.

Carolyn McDermott, Buena Vista University junior biology major from Lincoln, Nebraska, is one of only 30 U.S. students to be awarded an EPA undergraduate fellowship, which provides financial support for undergraduate study and an EPA facility internship.
