Buena Vista University (BVU) Theatre has announced the cast of its spring production of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare, which will take place April 27-30 at 7:30 p.m. in Anderson Auditorium on the BVU campus.

Paije Wee, a senior English major from Spirit Lake, has been accepted into the Master's degree program for Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa.

Two students were selected for the BVU School of Science Summer Research Program, supervised by Dr. Brian Lenzmeier, professor of biology.

Michael Adams, a senior exercise science major from Storm Lake, was accepted to the Master's program in kinesiology with a coaching emphasis at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.

Bailey Hansen, a senior psychology major from Redwood Falls, Minn., was accepted to graduate school at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

BVU ROTC Cadet Brandy Fowler was selected to attend the 2016 George C. Marshall Awards and Leadership Conference in Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., Feb. 22-24, and is the first cadet from the BVU Army ROTC program to be chosen to attend this elite conference.

Sarah Schlichte, a junior biology major from Templeton, was awarded a 10-week summer undergraduate research fellowship at the University of Iowa, along with a $3,750 stipend and housing provided in the University of Iowa dormitories.

Austin Adamson, a junior computer science major from Indianola, secured an internship with DuPont Pioneer in Johnston for the summer of 2016.

Buena Vista University media students and organization were recognized at the College Media Association (CMA) Organizational Pinnacle Awards presented at the CMA Fall National College Media Convention which took place in Austin, Texas.

Kiley Wellendorf, a junior digital media major from Carroll, won second place in the General Features category in the Iowa Associated Press Managing Editors 2015 News Writing Contest for her feature article, "Making Memories with Myles."

Veronica King, a senior history major from Manning, was accepted into the history graduate program at the University of York in York, England.

Blake Laursen, a senior biology major from Storm Lake, was accepted into the chiropractic program at Cleveland University in Overland Park, Kan., and received a $10,000 D.C. Recruitment Scholarship Award.

Buena Vista University's student media organizations took home 33 awards and other honors at the 2016 Iowa College Media Association (ICMA) conference held during February in Des Moines.

Kacee Baker, a senior English major, from Storm Lake had her short story "The Red Hat" chosen for publication by the online literary journal Mad River Review.
